We are “O-DVA-JA-MO”, the household waste separation project.
We are working on educating Serbian citizens into acquiring new habits on how household waste (especially paper, metal, plastic and glass) should be disposed of properly, so that they can be successfully recycled later.
Our goal is to reduce landfills and create a healthier environment.
The household waste separation project "O-DVA-JA-MO" was initiated by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, with the support of the European Union and Sweden.
Our goal is very simple - the citizens of Serbia should start disposing of household waste properly so that it can be recycled as much as possible.
The more waste is recycled, the smaller the amount of waste in landfills.
At the moment Serbia recycles less than 2% of household waste, while the average European Union municipal recycling rate is 48%. Our landfills are getting bigger and more crowded.
Recycling is one of the best ways to remove waste from the environment and make it healthier for living.
In the first phase, we are changing the habits of citizens in seventeen cities and municipalities.
